The Case of the Buried Frenzy

Shortpacked!@TNI: Forbidden fruit

It's true! I found Screen Battles "First Encounter" at Target the other day, which includes deluxe Barricade and figurines of Sam, Mikaela, and Frenzy. Barricade usually comes with his own Frenzy inside his chest, but there were difficulties removing him.

The first panel was originally going to start out with "I saw some loser on the Internet say that..." but that took up too much space. That loser was me!
too!, Frenzy wants to read

Ultra Car: Again with the pies.
Shortpacked!: To sleep, perchance to dream.

Alas, as previously documented, Ethan's woes are real. Though Animated debuted on the 26th, with episodes to follow weekly this Saturday and beyond, the toyline has been pushed back to the far reaches of summer! How are we to survive? Can we survive?

Here are the three figurines that came with Screen Battles Barricade. They're nicely sculpted and painted, for what they are, so I am pleased. I'm especially pleased that Sam seems to be running away for his life from the tiny terror of Frenzy. What a goob. Meanwhile, Mikaela's gonna go all chainsaw on his ass.

For super movie accuracy, Sam should be sans pants. Alas.

The Barricade that comes with the figurines, other than the locked-in black Frenzy, appears to be identical to the original retail version. Which is just as well, since I've already customized my original to my specifications, so it's not like I needed an improved one. That's my customized one in the background of the photo there, fighting an anachronistic New Bumblebee.

To the right is Sam and Mikaela battling Annie the Hammy. What a ferocious beast! I smell a Sci-Fi Original Movie.

I am not sure whether I am disappointed or not that Sam and Mikaela's sculpts do not seem to try to portray the actors. They could be any boy or any girl of the proper age, and not specifically Shia LaBeouf or Megan Fox. While I'd like to see them look more like themselves, I'm afraid that trying to caricature them at this tiny scale would end in frightening
results. I've seen it happen.

This set and the Longarm/damaged Bumblebee set are the first wave. The second wave, the one with the army dudes, are the ones I covet the most. I need my Fig, Donnelly, and Epps. They will bring it.

They will bring it so hard.
