For all of you planning to stay up super late tonight waiting to see The Story, you shouldn't! I've decided this is a stand-alone gag week, running M-W-F, as per usual. This was the original plan, figuring Friday's would make a great send-off cliffhanger to linger on for a while, but after seeing the loads of people who signed up for the forum to discuss Friday's strip (not to mention the spike in pageviews as seen in my PW stats), I temporarily figgered I'd just continue on with the drama anyway. There's a difference between teasing and frustrating, and I kinda wanted to nurture that new traffic and not leave it hanging.

But it was not to be. I changed my mind back. The story would be annoyingly interrupted in the middle by BotCon 2007 on-the-road strips, and plus I really don't want to run a story while, you know, the Transformers film is released. I have plans and stuff.

So tonight we'll have no strip, I'll show you my kitbashed Ratchet, and then new strips will go up on Wednesday and Friday.

Thanks for reading!

As promised, here's my (sort of) finished Ratchet in robot mode. You can see my photo of him before I touched him here for reference. I say "sort of" because I kinda want to find a matching green to paint the tops of his feet, as it's green there on the CGI model, but I don't rate my chances of getting that kind of initiative. All the paints (or markers) I used here I've had sitting around since I painted a model of my old truck.

The most crucial alteration, I think, is the black (Black Metallic, actually) I added to his face. His face is really mostly various dark shades of gray in the promotional renders, versus the toy's entirely-green-with-a-silver-mustache.

But this is all novice crap. You should check out Jin Saotome's Bonecrusher. My pride in my work has been deflated like a balloon!
