And the rest is silence.

Astrotrain and his Mini-Con horde: Starcatcher, Astro-Singer, Astro-Line, and Astro-HookSo, dude, I got my Airazor and Astrotrain from Fun Publications today! I also got a box of what's left of the "No, I'm Batman" t-shirts which I will put up for sale after I've shipped out all the newer t-shirts. Keep an eye out! I also got ...somebody else's package that wasn't ours.

As a result, I think I killed back this morning. I spent much time lying flat on the floor. Ow ow ow ow.

Anyway, as many of you know, Timelines Astrotrain was originally a dropped store exclusive named Spacewarp. He was sorta Astrotrainy colors, so when Fun Publications grabbed him after all the retail stores ditched him, they gave him a new Astrotrain head and called him Astrotrain.
The Mini-Cons he was originally supposed to come with were from overproduced molds, so he got a fresh redeco of the Giant Planet Mini-Con team instead, named Astro-Hook, Astro-Line, and Astro-Sinker. Sadly, despite some fandom nagging from myself and others, Astrotrain's Mini-Con partner was not named Cowcatcher. He is called Starcatcher, though! Which is totally a My Little Pony name. Heh heh heh.

Astrotrain is, frankly, gorgeous. The combination of gray, black, purple, and white, with lots of shock yellow accents is very striking. The first photo to the left completely fails to capture this, mostly because the lamp in my room has a yellow bulb and my Photoshop skills were unable to compensate. (Fate has decided, apparently, that the best lighting in our apartment is directly in front of Steve-o's DVDs.)

His Astro-squad of Mini-Cons share his colors, so they're also visually engaging. For example, Astro-Sinker, the submarine, is black with this wavey pattern of purple across his hull.

Astrotrain, unlike some Fan Club/Convention exclusives, got to keep the toy's electronics. I presume they're the same sounds Armada Powerlinx Jetfire had -- some blaster sounds and some spacey beeps.

The second photo on the left here is Astrotrain with Cannonball's crew of pirates, as featured in the Fan Club-exclusive text story The Dark Heart of Sandokan. The prose is kinda dry, so I haven't really read it in-depth yet, other than some skimming. I will sometime, though. I mean, it's a story about Transformer pirates. I feel obligated.
