Shortpacked!: Talking mouse, talking baby, talking cat, talking car, whatever.

To the left is a look at another one of the Shortpacked! button sets, namely the Amber/Faz set of four, which includes a Shortpacked! logo button and a "wild card" button. These were pretty popular, so we're excited!

Oh god, back to the mountain of Toy Fair coverage at ASM. There's a few more Hasbro things I want to talk about before pushing myself into other companies such as Mattel. (Though it's a bit harder for me this year, since the representatives there apparently had only news regarding Justice League rather than displayed product.)

Look, it's Indiana Jones! Like an angel from heaven, a line of G.I. Joe/Star Wars-scaled (3 3/4") figures from all four movies is coming to us. Wave one seems to be Raiders themed, wave two seems to be Crystal Skull themed, and wave three (not displayed) promises to be Last Crusade themed. I can totally have Indiana Jones and his father join my G.I. Joe team. (Hey, if Hawk and Snake-Eyes and the rest can be Vietnam vets and still look 30, then some dudes who drank from the Grail can totally hang out with them with little problem.) Wave 2 gives us a pair of Shia LaBeouf figures, so if anyone wants a Sam Witwicky scaled to, uh, something, there you go. Hell, he could join Joe too, if he wanted, since there's the precedent of Spike Witwicky once having done so.

NECA also proves interesting this year, as they get closer to releasing their Eastman/Laird-style Ninja Turtles. And following them, April O'Neil! I gushed over their Princess Bride announcement a few days ago, but take another look anyway.

Crap, I'm one of the first, if not the first, to post again? What am I, a stalker?

Anyhow, being the Joe fan that I am and being a member of two big Joe boards would probably say that I already knew that the Indiana Jones toys were gona be Joe sized. However, for some reason, I got the idea in my head that these were gona be the size of the Spider-Man movie figures (what were they, 5 inches?) I dunno....they just look like it without any reference figures around them.

Anyway, sweet deal! I didn't think I would be setting these with my Joes. Hell, if they are Joe sized, I might as well collect them full-tilt! I knew I was gona be fighting the urge anyhow. I mean, it's like "if you give a mouse a cookie." If I get Jones, I'm gona want his Dad, and if I get his Dad, well I'm just gona need that nazi on the motorcycle, and if I get him....well you get where I'm goin'. What I really need, though, is Marcus Brody with a big yellow explosion sticker on the front of the package that displays his action features: "Speaks a dozeon languages! Knows every local custom! Blends in and disappears!" Yeah, that's right. With any luck, he's got the grail already.

Mattel's making another Bizarro?

That's pretty awesome. He's my second favorite character.

the fact that they gave him a t-crotch seems to make him fit in more with star wars than gi joe

but the question is, WHY would they give him a t-crotch? intentionally lowering articulation is never a good thing!

there is this show that I know of back in the mid to possible late 90's that I can't remember the name of, it ran like 4 or 5 seasons not sure it was a daily show for me it came on in the mornings, it was set in the future we had space colonies on venus and mars and the moons, it was about this group of solders that were in mech kinda armor but it was more like exo-suits and they would fight in space. the first 2 seconds were blah but the 3rd turn where earth was having a civil war with the other colonies and the team got split up, can you help me you being the genius at comics and all?

Sadly, there's never been a DVD release of ExoSquad. However, if you look around eBay, there's VCR-transfer DVDs around (I got one of fairly good quality a while back).

Exosquad was 6 shades of awesome. A sci-fi series that built up increasingly complex interactions between multiple opposing factions of enemies and- often- allies.

No Shredder?!? No Triceratons?!! Gah, guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed. I'm all over those Indy figures tho! GI Joe sized is cool with me. The 6" Disney Store Exclusive Indy sucked.

And I left you two lame voice mail messages last night Willis, around 9pm my time (and if I'm in Cali it's like 11pm yours) stating that I had found the Tomax Xamot 2-packs and the Wild Weasle one. Kept the Tomax 2-pack in case you need it. Didn't find the Destro 2-pack tho, he shortpacked or something?

NECA wants to do los of comic based TMNT stuff, but they want to see how the first stuff does. They were pretty excited about it.

The English language lacks the words necessary to describe exactly how much I want those TMNT figures. I hope they do Eastman/Laird style figures of Casey, Shredder and Splinter, too.

In 1984, Indiana Jones totally hung out with my Joes.

Then his leg broke off, and, well, that was about it for Indy.
